In Version 6.0 of Troopers, there are five pilotable
snubfighters: the Incom T-65 X-Wing, the Koensayr BTL-S3 Y-Wing, the RZ-1 A-Wing, the Imperial TIE Bomber and the Imperial TIE Fighter.
Both share a standard in-game physics model and general functionality;
however, each has its own unique features and weaponry. However, the snub fighters available to each side share
a similar hud, the following is one example from each: |

Standard
Spacefighter Behaviour
All Troopers
snubfighters share a standard control model. As all vehicles,
especially snubfighters, perform differently than a soldier
on foot, several of the keys mapped to generic movement control
function differently when players are within vehicles.
Movement
of the mouse along the x- and y-axes controls the direction
a player's snubfighter points. Predictably, movement along
the x-axis is transferred to the fighter's pitch, while movement
of the mouse on the y-axis transfers to the fighter's yaw.
The forward and backward movement keys (defaulted at W and
S) are used to control vehicular throttle, while the left
and right strafe keys (defaulted at A and D) are used to roll
the craft. The Zoom and Toggle Zoom keys twitch between possible
ground targets -- spaceborne targets are acquired automatically
by the targeting computer. Manual target search may, however,
be used to override automatic locking. Pressing and holding
the Reload key engages a snubfighter's afterburners, at the
cost of a rapid drain on the spacecraft's energy stores, which
are used to fire the laser cannons.
All snubfighters are equipped with area radars, showing the locations
of both teammates and enemy fighters. X-Wings and TIE Fighters
each have unique icons that indicate their positions on the radar.
Objectives appear as yellow squares with black outlines. A successful
lock onto an objective will turn the black outline yellow as well.

Incom
T-65 X-Wing Starfighter
The T-65
X-Wing is the mainstay of Rebel Alliance Starfighter Command
and the staple fighter of the infamous Rogue Squadron. Sporting
a quartet of blaster cannons which can be fired in sequence
or as a linked set, along with a full complement of proton
torpedoes with target acquisition and ground assult functionality,
the X-Wing is fully capable of assaulting in force any target
it comes across. The Previous Weapon and Next Weapon keys
(defaulted to the mousewheel) switch the blaster cannons between
single fire, dual-fire, and linked-fire, discharging one,
two, or all four cannons at a time, respectively. While a
higher rate of fire allows for better target tracking, each
successful hit inflicts a proportionally smaller amount of
damage.
Fired in pairs of two with the Alternate Fire button, the X-Wing's
complement of twelve proton Torpedoes allows for six separate
firings. Torpedoes can lock onto both air targets and ground
targets, able to track enemy fighters through space and bear
down on essential components of opposing battle stations.

- Targeting Brackets
When you have acquired a target, brackets will be drawn
around it to show its position to the pilot. The brackets
start out big, slowly shrinking to a tight fit around the
target. This process also represents the lock-on status
for the target with your proton torpedoes. You can't fire
a guided proton torpedo at a target until the brackets have
reached their final size.

- Crosshair
The crosshair indicates the direction in
which your craft's blasters are facing.

- Lead Crosshair
The lead crosshair is a special, small icon that is drawn
when you are locked on to a target. It does not show your
current directional bearing; instead it shows where your
computer projects you should be pointing to hit your target
if it continues to travel in the same direction.

- Target Projection
This indicator shows a projection of your current target.
The rotation of the projection of the target shows the relative
rotational bearing of your target when compared to yours.

- Warning Screen
This warning screen will show a blinking red color when
an enemy has a lock on you, for as long as the lock is sustained.
When your enemy loses his lock on you, the image will change
back to a static white cross.

- Target Lock Indicator
This indicator is used to show the status of your target
lock. When you have acquired a target, its name will be
displayed on this indicator. When you do not have a target
it reads "None". The graphic above the target's
name indicates the status of a proton torpedo lock on your
target. When the graphic is black, your proton torpedoes
are not locked on to your target. This means that they will
not be guided when they are fired, but will continue in
a straight line instead. When your targeting brackets have
shrunk to their final size and you are aiming over the target
however, the graphic will light up in white. This means
that your proton torpedoes are locked on to your target.
Any proton torpedo that is fired while having a proton lock
on a target will home in on its target in mid-flight.

- Energy Bar
The current energy supply is represented by this bar. A
full bar means the energy capacitors are fully charged.

- Speed Bar
This bar indicates your current velocity. A full bar represents
the maximum velocity an X-Wing can reach using afterburners.

- Radar
This is your ship's radar. Refer to the Standard Starfighter
Behavior section for an explanation of the various icons
and colors.

- Hull Strength
The graphic on this indicator shows the status of your ship's
hull. When the X-Wing outline is fully colored, your hull
is in excellent condition. As you take damage, the color
will disappear from the top of the outline. When it is completely
empty, your hull fails.

- S-Foils Indicator
This graphic shows the current status of your craft’s
S-Foils. When your S-Foils are closed, you can't fire your
blasters, but your maneuverability is improved.

- Proton Torpedo Count
Each white-colored icon on this indicator represents a proton
torpedo in your inventory. When a proton torpedoes is fired,
its icon turn black.

- Fire Pattern Indicator
The graphic on this indicator shows the current configuration
of your craft's blasters. When the single arrow is lit up,
your blasters are set to the Single Fire pattern. Two arrows
next to each other indicate the Dual Fire mode is activated,
and four grouped arrows indicates your blasters are configured
for the Linked Fire pattern.

Imperial TIE Fighter
The staple of the Imperial Navy and a feared sight across countless
worlds, the Imperial TIE Fighter is a formidable opponent
in the hands of a skilled operator. Sporting excellent maneuverability
and twin laser cannons that can be fired in tandem or sequentially,
the TIE Fighter is a fearsome sight on the battlefield. Using
the Previous / Next Weapon keys (bound to the mouse wheel
by default) a player can cycle between Single Fire and Dual
Fire modes.

- Targeting Brackets
When you have acquired a target, brackets will be drawn
around it to show its position to the pilot. The brackets
start out large, slowly shrinking to a tight fit around
the target.

- Crosshair
The crosshair indicates which direction your craft's laser
blasters are facing.

- Lead Crosshair
The lead crosshair is a special, small icon that is drawn
when you are locked on to a target. It does not show where
you are currently pointing to, but it shows the computer’s
prediction of where you should be pointing to hit your target
if it continues to travel in the same direction.

- Target Projection
This indicator shows a projection of your current target.
The rotation of the projection of the target shows the relative
rotational bearing of your target when compared to yours.

- Radar
This is your ship's radar. Refer to the Standard Starfighter
Behavior section for an explanation of the various icons
and colors.

- Proton Torpedo Warning Screen
This indicator will flash a warning when a proton torpedo
is homing in on you. When you see this warning, you'd better
engage in some evasive maneuvers!

- Energy Bar
The current energy output of your craft is represented by
this bar. A full bar means the energy capacitors are fully
charged.

- Incoming Torpedo Distance
When the TIE Fighter's internal sensors have detected an
incoming Proton Torpedo, they will track it. Among the data
gathered is the distance from the torpedo to your own craft.
This distance is displayed by the Incoming Torpedo Distance
indicator.

- Hull Strength
The graphic on this indicator shows the status of your ship's
hull. When the TIE outline is fully colored, your hull is
in excellent condition. As you take damage, the color will
disappear from the top of the outline. When it is completely
empty, your hull fails.

- Speed Bar
This bar indicates your current velocity. A full bar represents
the maximum velocity a TIE can reach using full engine power.

- Warning Screen
This warning screen will show a blinking color when an enemy has a lock
on you, for as long as the lock is sustained. When your enemy loses his
lock on you, the image will change back to a static image.

- Twin Ion Engine Overheat
This indicator warns of pushing the TIE engines too hard,
causing dangerous heat buildup.

- Target Name
This indicator shows the name of your current target.
